Telematics Refresh & Last Sync

Vehicle telemetry is kept up to date automatically: the platform pulls fresh positions from your telemetry providers (e.g. iGeoTrack) on a schedule and updates the fleet live. This feature adds a way to refresh on demand and to see exactly when the system last synced.

Refresh now

The Refresh button pulls the latest data from all of your configured providers immediately, ignoring the normal sync interval. Use it when you want the freshest possible positions without waiting for the next automatic update.

You'll find it in two places:

• Vehicles tab — next to Telemetry Providers.
• Map — in the telematics toolbar at the bottom, in the fleet panel header, and in the mobile telematics sheet.

While a refresh runs, the icon spins. When it finishes, the fleet list updates.

Last sync vs. last update

Two different timestamps matter, and they mean different things:

• Last sync — when the system last pulled data from your providers. If everything is healthy this is usually under a minute ago.
• Last update (shown on each vehicle) — when that vehicle last reported a position. A parked or switched-off vehicle keeps its last known position, so this can be hours or days old — that's normal.

Because of this, a fleet that is parked overnight will show many "old" vehicle timestamps while Last sync stays recent. That means the system is working correctly — the vehicles simply aren't moving.

"Last sync" is shown on the Vehicles tab, in the map fleet panel, and in each vehicle's detail view ("view more").

Automatic polling indicator

On the Vehicles tab, the sync icon briefly spins whenever an automatic update lands new data, so you get a subtle signal that live data is flowing even when you're not refreshing manually.

Who can refresh

Forcing a sync requires the Manage telematics permission (owners and managers by default), because it contacts your external provider and writes new data. Anyone who can view telematics can still see the Last sync indicator.
